P&B relay production goes lead free

P&B has changed all pcb production processes for relay manufacture from leaded-tin solder to use lead free solder as part of our commitment to comply with forthcoming ROHS directives. The change process was executed with assistance from BLT circuit services in transferring the wave solder and smt placement machines to lead free. Production was halted only briefly whilst the machines were out of service and production has resumed without hitch which was testament to our due diligence and planning.

New retrofit relays added to range

Following in the footsteps of the range of retrofit / replacement circuit breakers supplied by P&B over the last 20 years we have embarked on a programme of introducing direct plug and play retrofit relays. This began with introducing state of the art replacements for P&B’s wealth of electromechanical relays and is extending into supplying replacements for relays supplied over the years by other manufacturers. In our latest installation we have replaced obsolete Switchgear and Instrumentation (S&I) Motor Manager5 relays for PDO in Oman. To the delight of this and other customers, not only do they get improved protection relay functionality but improved control and communications as well using the P&B direct replacement.

New agents appointed in Australia and the Middle East

P&B has exported relays to all corners of the world over many decades. As part of the drive to support customers of the existing installed base, to replace ageing and obsolete products and to introduce more P&B products to wider export markets we have recently appointed two new agents.

In Australia, GFF Power has been active in supplying and supporting a range of substation equipment for some years and we are delighted to announce that they will represent P&B for all our products in Australia. To enhance P&B’s existing presence in the Middle East, where we already have an office in Oman, we are very happy that Power System Partners (ME) have agreed to represent us. PSP (ME) is located in Bahrain and with the existing P&B personnel in the Middle East this will allow us to cover a wider area and give even better support to our existing and new customers.
